Our room was a lot more than what I expected..."I surprised my husband by taking him to this lovely bed and breakfast for his birthday. We live just outside of Savannah but far enough to enjoy a night downtown Savannah! The location of this Inn is perfect for anywhere you want to go downtown whether it be Bay St, River St, or Broughton St and it is very close to all kinds of good restaurants and bars! The front desk staff are very friendly and personable. They will accommodate you in anyway possible which they let me check in 2 hours early to set up my birthday decorations. Our room was a lot more than what I expected it to be. It was very large, clean, and inviting! The AC worked very well! They offer complementary bottles of water at the front desk and also complementary breakfast! The breakfast was good and offered cereals, muffins, toast, hot biscuits and gravy, hot eggs, ham, etc. Overall our experience staying here was above and beyond and we would definitely recommend East Bay Inn to anyone staying in Savannah!"
The brightest and most comfortable room I have experienced..."I stayed 4 days and it was the most amazing experience!! The staff was incredible and accommodating!! The staff take care of all of your needs. I am a runner and when I would return they would meet me at the desk with 2 bottles of cold water, that is anticipating a guests needs. I stayed in Room 322 it was an incredible room. Obviously on the 3rd floor, not obvious it was a corner room and had 4 huge windows, it was the brightest and most comfortable room I have experienced from home in a very long time. The staff was always very friendly and willing to do what ever it took to make my stay the best possible! You would be making a big mistake if you were to stay anywhere else. Location was great very easy walk to anywhere you could want to visit."
A staff that will always go out of their way..."We have enjoyed the East Bay Inn on many occasions during the past 10 years and each time have found it to provide outstanding value. Wonderful rooms, dog friendly, perfect location in the heart of historic Savannah, and a staff that will always go out of their way to ensure a memorable stay. Each room is unique and all are comfortable. Savannah is a fun city to visit and the EBI adds significantly to the pleasure."
Walk everywhere from this location..."This is a lovely old Bed & Breakfast in Old Town Savannah. You can't see the river, but it is across Bay Street. Walk everywhere from this location. Amazing piece of history in a town that is all about history. Enjoy a lovely wine and cheese gathering before dinner and a terrific breakfast when you get up in the morning."
The wine and cheese in the afternoon was a nice treat..."We stayed at the East Bay Inn in June and really enjoyed it!!! The location was great!! We were able to walk to everything we wanted! The room was spacious and kept very clean. Breakfast was good and the wine and cheese in the afternoon was a nice treat!! Staff was very nice and helpful."
A big genuine smile and was absolutely fantastic setting up tours and making dinner reservations for us..."We truly enjoyed our 4-night stay at the East Bay Inn and will definitely be back! Sheila is absolutely wonderful, she greets you when you first come in the door with a big genuine smile and was absolutely fantastic setting up tours and making dinner reservations for us. The Inn itself is very charming and quaint. I would agree that a lot of the charm is the age of the facility. The beds were comfortable and linens were clean. Heavy curtains blocked the light from the street. The noise from the street did not keep us up at night but Charlie (the Inn's friendly ghost) did do some heavy furniture moving and sometimes walked a little hard on the floors above us. The wine and cheese socials were also a treat. It is located near River Street and close to numerous restaurants, antique stores, pubs, and just about anything else you would like to visit or see."
The special ambiance of history and hospitality that Savannah is known for..."We made a quick stop on our way driving to our daughters' volleyball tournaments in Orlando, Florida. We were so happy we decided to take the time and stay. The East Bay Inn is truly a gem of a hotel. Our room was gorgeous, with comfortable Queen beds and plenty of room for two adults and two teenagers. Ms. Sheila and Mr. Melvin were fantastic sources of information, stories, and made us feel so welcome. We ran into a bit of bad weather and Ms. Sheila was so kind to lend us two umbrellas so we wouldn't be late for our dinner reservations. The hotel is full of wonderful pieces of antique furniture that add to the special ambiance of history and hospitality that Savannah is known for. Breakfast is first rate with many options to choose from. The pancakes are heaven and the requisite grits, gravy and biscuits are also good. We felt the price was also very reasonable given the beauty of the rooms, the location (downtown just off of Reynolds Square), breakfast and quality of the hotel staff. Wish we could have stayed longer!"
Over the top service"What a gem! Over the top service. Small inn with 20+ rooms but beautifully maintained and convenient to everything (walking distance). The staff made sure we wanted for nothing and our trips there have been perfect every time. They also have pet friendly rooms with private little courtyards where your pet can have a small outdoor area and be completely safe as you enjoy a little Savannah sunshine. Perfect place for fun, relaxation and being pampered all at the same time but in a very laid back atmosphere."
