a savannah tradition
Debi'S RESTAURANT
Visit East Bay Inn’s Garden level to discover the warm hospitality of Debi’s Restaurant, one of downtown Savannah's most beloved local dining spots since 1972. Conveniently located on the property–and no reservations needed–everyone’s welcome to fill up on honest-to-goodness Southern classics for breakfast or lunch. Think their famous chicken and waffles, or fried green tomatoes and stacked crab cakes with a side of collard greens (ask for pepper vinegar). Don’t miss the daily special, and try your best to save room for dessert!

A Note From Debi
Our family has been serving the people of Savannah since 1972 – and finding a home here at East Bay Inn has been one of the greatest chapters of our story. My mother Mary Buckley started it all, running our little restaurant along with my three sisters. Over the decades we’ve moved around town, serving courthouse regulars, local business folks, and even earning a footnote in Forrest Gump lore (where Jenny was a waitress!).
When we were invited to settle into this beautiful 1852 building on the corner of Lincoln & Bay in 2019, we cherished weaving our heritage in with the East Bay Inn. The rich Savannah history of these walls is the same spirit we bring to every plate. Today you'll still find Mary's granddaughters and great-granddaughters bustling around the dining room. More than a restaurant, it's family. And we're so glad you're here.

“Great southern menu or you can do meat and two or three! My wife and I had a great lunch at Debi’s. I had fried chicken (just like my mom used to make). Everything was delicious and the service was excellent. Our new “go to” in downtown Savannah. The locals know…”
