Wag-O-Ween Weekend With Your Dog, From East Bay Inn
Wag-O-Ween runs Saturday and Sunday, October 24 and 25, 2026, and if you are staying at East Bay Inn the weekend starts on your own doorstep. Of the four Historic Inns of Savannah, this is the one that takes dogs, so what follows is the weekend as it looks from here.
For everything else happening in Savannah that week, from Trick or Treat on River Street to Halloween night itself, start with our Halloween in Savannah planner. For Wag-O-Ween's own registration, prices and schedule, see our full Wag-O-Ween guide and the organizer's site, wagoween.org, which is the final word on dates and tickets.
Friday: Arriving With a Dog
Parking is included in the amenity fee, so the car is parked for the weekend as soon as you arrive. East Bay Inn is a 28-room inn in an 1852 building at 225 East Bay Street, with the Riverwalk directly across the road, which makes the first walk of the trip the easiest one: out the front door, across Bay Street, and along the river.
Two of the rooms open onto a private patio with courtyard access. If your dog likes somewhere to sit outside between walks, ask for one of those when you book.
The inn is also the only one of the four Historic Inns of Savannah that welcomes children, so a family traveling with a dog and kids has one address that works for everyone.
Saturday: Pulaski Square
Saturday's route runs around Pulaski Square, roughly a 15-minute walk from the inn down Bull Street, through the squares. Registration, the route map and the day's events are on the organizer's site, and our Wag-O-Ween guide covers what the two days involve and how the two neighborhoods differ.
Several restaurants near the inn welcome dogs on their patios. Ask at the front desk for current recommendations before you head out.
The Same Afternoon, for Families
If your trip is built around children rather than a dog, Trick or Treat on River Street lands on the same Saturday afternoon, a few minutes' walk down to the water from the inn. It is a different kind of afternoon, and it fits easily around a Wag-O-Ween day without needing a second neighborhood.
Sunday: Starland
The second day moves to the Starland District, which is a drive or a rideshare from East Bay Inn rather than a walk. Build that into Sunday morning before you set off.
Back at the Inn
Guests receive a complimentary glass of wine or draft beer per stay at Tandem, the bar on the ground floor, which is a reasonable way to end a day of walking.
And yes, the inn has a resident of its own. Staff call him Charlie, and guests curious about flickering lights and doors that lock themselves can read his story on our haunted history page.
Planning Your Stay
October is a peak month at all four Historic Inns of Savannah, so book early. Check availability at East Bay Inn.
